360 Bearhawk Flight Around the Traffic Pattern

Problem: Our client wanted to leverage 360 video to showcase the airplane he built and demonstrate how simple and fun it is to fly.

Solution: This project showcases an innovative 360 video that offers viewers a perspective of flying in an experimental homebuilt Bearhawk aircraft. The objective was to provide a comprehensive, immersive flight experience, highlighting the joy of flying. The approach involved a lot of planning utilizing advanced video editing techniques in After Effects to integrate stationary mapped text onto the hangar door, thereby enhancing the visual narrative. Three distinct sound recording devices were deployed to ensure the highest quality audio, capturing clear lav audio on the ground and incorporating intercom audio for in-flight communication clarity. The placement of the 360 camera was strategically chosen to engage viewers actively, requiring them to follow movements to the aircraft and within, simulating the perspective of an actual passenger. Special attention was given to engaging the content, featuring visual cues from a passenger’s viewpoint in the front seat. The outcome is a captivating video that transcends traditional flight viewing experiences, offering a unique glimpse into the world of homebuilt aviation and the personal joy it brings.
